Environmental and Social Management Plan for Restoration of sub-alpine mountain forests in the selected location in Ajara Autonomous Republic, Georgia
Environmental and Social Management Planning has been completed for forest restoration in Georgia
The Environmental and Social Management Plan (ESMP) has been prepared by Forestry Agency of the Directorate of Environment Protection and Natural Resources of Ajara Autonomous Republic (Georgia). The ESMP is related to the forest restoration activity within sub-alpine (high mountain) zone in Ajara. In total, 120 ha of degraded forests have been fenced and natural regeneration of the forest was promoted within the fenced area, near village Bodzauri in Khulo Municipality. All of the key provisions of the ESMP were agreed with the local villagers, after several meetings. The latter have actively participated in the forest restoration activities.
