WWF-Caucasus conducted a survey of about 100 Georgian companies regarding their preference of FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified paper. The activity was conducted within the framework of the component on Awareness Raising Activities for the Key Stakeholders (EC-supported Activity 5.2 of the CWP of Georgia). The survey was carried out by a consulting company GORBI (Georgian Opinion Research Business International).

While the survey revealed a relatively low level of awareness of the FSC certification, the results indicate that there is substantial interest in this scheme among the Georgian companies. Five companies (among the participants of the survey) are already using FSC-certified paper. Further 64 companies expressed their willingness to purchase certified paper. The outcomes of this survey have established a good basis for subsequent promotion of the purchasing of FSC-certified paper by the interested companies.
