The edition gives a review of information about estimating state and private systems of monitoring wood origins (MWO) in Russia.
The publication describes origins and gives a general overview of MWO development systems in the world and in Russia, fully pictures legality control systems of leading national and foreign (primarily Finnish) timber companies working in Russia as well as experience of а number of regions in implementation of MWO and forest management control programs. The book analyzes the project of national timber measurement system as well as other systems that the state employs. The publication shows strong and weak points of state and corporate MWO systems.
WWF hopes that the publication will help Russian forest exporters to raise the effectiveness of opposition to illegal wood, and that it will be also used while making national control system of timber legality.
