June 12, at the World Bank office in Kiev, the FLEG II Program will host a round table discussion on the issue of combating corruption in the forest sector in Ukraine.

Europe Day in Armenia
The Europe Day Information Week 2014 (17-24 May) was organized by the EU Delegation to Armenia. The series of events were aimed at learning more about EU Member States and EU supported projects in Armenia, discovering the cultural and innovative Europe by participating in cultural and artistic activities, as well as sharing ideas and discussing diverse topics around EU-Armenia relations, European culture and innovations.

International Forestry competition “Podrost” winners announced in Moscow
The final stage of the 11th All-Russian Junior Forestry Competition “Podrost” was held near Moscow in Pushkin, from 12 to 16 May 2014. Of those implementing the regional FLEG II Program activities, representatives of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus and Moldova attended the competition this year.

Environmental Assessment and Management Framework of Pilot Projects under the ENPI-FLEG II Program

ENPI FLEG II IUCN Armenia Consultant on Independent Public Monitoring of Forests selected
IUCN Armenia has recently finalized the selection of the ENPI FLEG II Consultant on «The Independent Public Monitoring of Forests in Armenia». A significant number of organizations expressed their interest in the announced position, however only five have been shortlisted – Forgis Oy Ltd., Geoinfo LLC, NHRS LLC, SilviaTerra & Haykooni LLC (joint venture), Verelk NGO and Young Biologists Association NGO.

Workshop on the TEEB Scoping Study for the Forest Sector of Armenia
On April 30, 2014 a workshop on the TEEB (The Economics of Ecosystems and Biodiversity) scoping study for the forest sector of Armenia was organized by WWF-Armenia in the frames of the European Union (EU) funded project “European Neighborhood and Partnership Instrument (ENPI) East Countries Forest Law Enforcement and Governance (FLEG) II Program” (ENPI-FLEG II). The Austrian Development Cooperation (ADA) provides additional funding for some project components in Armenia.

IUCN has recently finalized the selection of the “ENPI FLEG IUCN Moldova Journalists Trainer”. Three organizations expressed their interest in the announced position – “Natura” Magazine, Public Association Ave-Natura and Moldovan Environmental and Eco Tourism Journalists Association (AJMTEM).
