Kyiv, April 25 - It is well-known that the forestry sector’s input into a country’s economy is determined by the degree to which its forestry industry is developed. A round table meeting, which will be held on April 29, 2014 in the Kyiv World Bank Country Office, will be devoted to the analysis of the current state, dynamics and problems of the wood processing industry in Ukraine.
In order to foster youth participation in forest rehabilitation and forest protection activities, a number of meetings with schoolchildren are to be carried out in Azerbaijani forest regions. One of them will be held in the Ismailli region, on April 22 2014. The main organizer of the event is the Republican Center for Ecological Education and Practice under the Ministry of Education (MoE) with the support of the EU funded FLEG II Program in Azerbaijan.

International dialogue on improving forestry sector governance and management held at the Forestry Forum in Arkhangelsk
Moscow, April 3, 2014 – a round table "Improving governance and law enforcement in the implementation of major forest operations and forest resources in the FLEG II (ENPI East) Program" was held as a part of the Arkhangelsk International Forestry Forum.
It’s been a year now since Regulation (EU) No. 995/2010 was put into force (3 March 2013), a document designed to ban all access of illegally harvested timber to the European markets. Yet, there are issues of the Russian timber origin verification that remain unsettled.

Korolyenko City Central Library, to discuss youth participation in forestry activities. Topics covered included the protection of the forests and sustainable forest management in Azerbaijan.
Moscow, February 26, 2014 – The round table "Legal protection and preservation of forests in Russia” took place at the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Moscow. The FLEG II (ENPI East) Program, funded by the European Union, was presented during the event. The list of recommendations to improve the legislation was developed.
