November 12, 2013 Kiev will see the first meeting of the National Advisory Committee Program (NPAC), for the second phase ENPI/East-2 FLEG II («European Neighborhood and Partnership instrument East countries Forest Law Enforcement and Governance II Program»). The meeting will discuss the national and regional work plan for 2013-2014 and will present the results of the Steering Committee Meeting, organized in Minsk in early October 2013. After the NPAC meeting there will be a round table discussion, where the invited the parties will discuss the current problems of the forest policy of Ukraine.

It is assumed that during the meeting the members of NPAC will approve the proposed work plan for Ukraine, and also discuss problems of forest policy development and identify stakeholders interested in their solutions. During the round table ENPI-FLEG program experts will present the findings of analytical studies and answer participants' questions.

It is expected that as a result of this meeting the Program Coordination Team and the stakeholders will get an idea of ​​the breadth of opinions among interested parties, which will help identify further areas for discussion and possible approaches to the development of the forest policy.

Among the invitees are representatives of the Parliament, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, the Ministry of Industrial Policy, the State Forest Resources Agency, the State Land Resources Agency, NGOs, wood processing industry, academia, journalists and FLEG Program Partners (EU, IUCN , WWF).

The event will take place on November 12, from 10 to 14.30 in the Kiev office of the World Bank at 1 Dniprovskyyuzviz.
