FLEG II program announced three exemplary projects as winners of the media contest. Media contest was launched after the workshop for the journalists, held in Ismailly on 11-14 July 2016 with support EU funded ENPI FLEG II Program.

The goal of the competition for the journalists was to increase understanding of: FLEG II Program objectives; forest management practice used in Azerbaijan, sustainable and innovative forest management practices and the role of community in it.

Winners of the contest are: Rauf Nasirov the author of the best article (read here), Khanim Muxtarova, Gulara Seyidova, Zarifa Feyzullayeva and Ulviyya Israfilova for their creative teamwork video material called “I Want to Know Everything” (see here) and Gulqiz Suleymanova as author of an original story- “life of a paper” (read here).

Awarding ceremony was celebrated on 30 September 2016 -“FSC Friday” day in the office of WWF Azerbaijan and the event was attended by the journalists and the stakeholders of the FLEG II Program as well as the FSC Regional Officer for CIS Countries. Fuad Bagirov, one of the guests and Director for Azerbaijan Green Building Council highlighted: “Program plays an important role in educating young and even experienced journalists on forest management and legislation. The best in the workshop organized for the journalists was the exchange of information among those who are writing about environmental issues.”
