Assignment Title: Consultant for Translation of  the new EU timber regulation Study Outputs

WWF-Russia has received financing from the World Bank (through WWF International) toward the cost of the regional Program European Neighborhood and Partnership Instrument (ENPI) East Countries Forest Law Enforcement and Governance (FLEG) II, and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consulting services.

The consulting service (“the Service”) involves Russian – English translation of the report regarding the surveying the opinion of Russian logging companies’ CEOs on conducting business in the context of the new EU timber regulation (Regulation (EU) 995/2010) and Russian – English and English – Russian translation of other ENPI-FLEG II project related materials.

The duration of the assignment is approximately 3 calendar months. Additional details are given in the Terms of Reference, attached to this announcement.

The WWF-Russia now invites eligible Individual Consultants to submit a Cover Letter and CV demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the Service. The shortlisting criteria are:

  • Relevant linguistic education in English or  Degree in other than language field from an English-language university;
  • Extent of working experience as a translator (Russian – English, English – Russian) in environmental field, preferably including the field of forestry;
  • Written proficiency in Russian and English; 
  • Good interpersonal skills and computer literacy. High editorial skills.

The attention of interested Consultants is drawn to paragraph 1.9 and 1.11 of the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants [under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits & Grants] by World Bank Borrowers, setting forth the Bank’s policy on conflict of interest and eligibility.

A Consultant will be selected in accordance with the Selection of Individual Consultants method. Your experience and qualification shall conform to the requirement as specified in the terms of reference.

Interviews might be held, if deemed necessary. The best qualified consultant will be invited to contract negotiation. Further information can be obtained and application documents must be delivered to the address below by 2 April 2014.
